Welcome to
paradise.
Located directly opposite the iconic Surfers Paradise archway. The Paradise Centre Surfers Paradise development is on the corner of the Esplanade and the famous Cavill Mall in the Gold Coast.
With the redevelopment underway, the centre needed an iconic hoarding design to last the longevity of the rebuild. Including 8 new beachfront restaurants over two levels. Landscaped, open public space to connect the centre with the beach across the road.
I was commissioned to conceive the concept and illustrate the large scale hoarding. The challenge here was to create a mural where the hoarding could be interchangeable. Allowing for construction to continue, entering from multiple entry points. Whilst not disrupting the overall aesthetic of the illustration and story.
Surfers Paradise is world-famous for the long stretch of beach. My concept was to showcase what the lifestyle is like on the glamour strip. Every panel is part of a central story which is life in Surfers Paradise. This allows for each panel to be swappable without interrupting any part of the overall scene. Incorporating a bright colour palette, which envokes the feeling of fun in the sun. Classic beach references of surfers, lifeguards and families all living life in paradise.
“Surrounding the Paradise Centre development in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Matching this iconic location on Cavill Ave directly opposite the beach, Allan has created some of the most iconic, large murals ever produced. These both excite and engage the market in a contemporary and visually exciting style”.
